恐怖秘籍讲述的是编辑部李文海，在公司即将面临倒闭破产的情况下，一再受到老板的催促，要写出好的小说故事发行拯救公司拯救老板的婚姻，李文海在艰难的工作和生活环境中开始展开故事的写作，故事里老板变成了替人驱邪的道士，道士的表弟牧师余在道士的帮助下接到第一单驱邪生意，牧师余为解救客户的已逝女友被控制的灵魂，与鬼王展开搏斗。最后在牧师余最危险的时刻，李文海化身故事里的天将杀死了鬼王。牧师余也成功的释放了超度了客户前女友的灵魂。最后天亮了李文海回到现实中，关上电脑拿起公文包继续一天的工作。。Aspiring filmmakers Mel Funn, Marty Eggs and Dom Bell go to a financially troubled studio with an idea for a silent movie. In an effort to make the movie more marketable, they attempt to recruit a number of big name stars to appear, while the studio's creditors attempt to thwart them. The film contains only one word of dialogue, spoken by an unlikely source.。
