Jude, a college literature professor, falls for one of his students. Jude shows an interesting side of the stigmas associated with transgenerational relationships and how to deal with the inevitable pain of a love doomed to failure.。海辺の理髪店に若い男が訪れる。「髪型はお任せします」という客のオーダーに老店主は嬉しそうに調髪に取り掛かり、問わず語りにこれまでの自分の人生を語り出した。祖父が始めた床屋を１０才から手伝い、初めて任された仕事は出兵する常連客をバリカンで丸刈りしたことだった。昭和３０年代には順調だった店が傾き酒におぼれ、最初の妻に暴力をふるって離婚されたことも。そんな取り留めのない話をしながら、店主は見事な手さばきで調髪を続ける。ところが「人を殺めたことがある」と、突然彼は若い男に告白する…。。
