该剧讲述了一起发生在南方四线小城海舟市的连环凶案，在真相尘封了十七年之后，与这宗悬案有着千丝万缕的联系的人们，在各自不可告人的秘密中，一起等待真相浮出水面……。When a casino owning dog named Charlie is murdered by his rival Carface, he finds himself in Heaven basically by default since all dogs go to heaven. However, since he wants to get back at his killer, he cons his way back to the living with the warning that doing that damns him to Hell. Once back, he teams with his old partner, Itchy to prep his retaliation. He also stumbles on to an orphan girl who can talk to the animals, thus allowing him to get the inside info on the races to ensure his wins。深夜3点，远方市中心的喧嚣隐隐传来，台北外围的街道上，老郭与妻子在此经营清粥小菜店，为夜深未眠的人们提供一处热食。计程车司机、隔壁刺青师、经营抓娃娃机的小情侣、等待主人归来的流浪狗，都在此获得漫漫长夜裡的短暂慰藉。借由单纯的看与听，本片带领观众走进睡眠中的台北市，一窥其中不为人知的夹层及韵律。。
