Desperate to avoid facing his own traumatic reality, the man must venture outside to find a replacement, into a city where violence and danger lurk beneath a skim of beautiful illusion.。描述南宋夏侯世家入金国救徽钦二帝的故事。夏侯世家一门女杰，艺高胆大不让须眉，宋高宗忌惮其势力，故意派之入金，表面救二圣，实为送死。中间穿插了宋国虎牢关守将龙腾与夏侯翠缨、夏侯紫缨的三角恋，以及金国将军完颜桑哥和夏侯蓝缨的异族悲恋，后又有龙腾身世被揭，原来他亦为金人，乃完颜桑哥的二哥，龙腾遂与桑哥连手除去野心勃勃的大哥完颜哈赤奴。但夏侯世家已伤亡惨重，桑哥与蓝缨因黛玛介入而不得善终，龙腾与翠缨亦遭宋高宗狙杀，所有人物全部牺牲。。这部3集纪录片《马背上的青铜帝国》以三大青铜文明之一神秘的北方草原青铜文明为表现主题和拍摄对象，我们透过一件件生动、奔放、野性、彪悍个性的青铜器，不仅让观众感受“鄂尔多斯式青铜器”独特的艺术魅力，还让观众窥探两千多年前北方草原游牧民族的生活画卷，突显鄂尔多斯高原从古至今都充满了神秘感。。
