初一箭（黄浩然 饰）自小就失去了父母，是孤苦无依的孤儿。幼年时的一段经历让他立志成为捕快，并且最终完成了这一梦想。初一箭在职场上的锋芒毕露让捕头程英雄（杨明 饰）感到十分不快，于是他利用职务之便故意指使初一箭去追捕穷凶极恶的尹天邦（麦长青 饰），希望此行能让初一箭吃一吃苦头。 之后，初一箭结识了女贼欢喜（黄翠茹 饰），身份对立的两人如同前世冤家一般水火不容，然而，欢喜却屡屡救初一箭于命悬一线之中，更和欢笑（乐瞳 饰）和欢静（梁嘉琪 饰）姐妹三人重演了梁山伯与祝英台之故事，希望能借此获得初一箭的注意。可是，半路杀出的千金小姐蝴蝶（陈自瑶 饰）将欢喜的如意算盘破坏殆尽，初一箭陷入了和蝴蝶的感情漩涡之中无法自拔。。1997年，只有6岁儿童智商的智障男子李龙久（柳成龙 饰）和可爱的女儿艺胜（葛素媛 饰）相依为命，生活虽然简单清贫，却充满幸福。某天，执着为女儿买美少女战士书包的龙久意外卷入一起幼童诱拐奸杀案，而死者竟是警察局长的女儿。龙久懵懂无知，搞不清状况，昏头昏脑就被投入监狱。在7号牢房中，聚集着走私犯蘇杨浩（吴达洙 饰）、诈骗犯崔春浩（朴元尚 饰）、通奸犯姜万范（金正泰 饰）、恐吓犯老徐（金基灿 饰）和抢劫犯申奉植（郑万植 饰）等五毒俱全的“社会渣滓”。龙久孩子般纯洁的心渐渐感动了这几个“大坏蛋”，他们甚至不惜冒险将艺胜带入牢房与父亲相会。 黑暗冰冷的监牢内，7号牢房阳光满满……。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
